Well, once again we have enjoyed lots of fun since my last post. I will get pictures up later of our trip to NJ, and other fun, but right now I need help.
I'm supposed to bring dinner to a friend and her family on Thursday night. She had surgery last Thursday, and she and has three young boys. SO, what do I fix? I have been trying to think of a chicken recipe. It has become kind of a joke among my friends from church with young children, that we all have the same meal that we make to bring to those who are sick or had a baby. In fact, a friend and I brought the same meal to our other friend who had a baby in February (if that isn't confusing enough, I am making the meal for the same friend who had the baby in Feb.)
So, my meal that I/we make is a recipe from the back of the Stove Top Stuffing box (it also has sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheese, and chicken). The nice part of this meal is the chicken doesn't have to be cooked before you put it in the casserole.
Enough rambling do any of you have an easy recipe/ meal ideas (maybe even basic ingredients that I just might have on hand)that I can try? Also, the meal needs to be easily transported, my friend lives about 30 minutes away. . . I hope to hear lots of ideas, cause I need them!!
Also, I came across a really easy good recipe for a cake.
White cake mix
White frosting
Chocolate syrup
Chocolate chips
Mix cake mix according to the the box, add 1/2-1 cup of choc. chips. Reserve 1 cup of batter pour the rest into 9x13 pan. Add 1/4 cup syrup to reserved batter. Drop the chocolate batter into 6-8 blobs then swirl. . . Bake cake according to box. Once cooled frost and drizzle choc. syrup and choc. chips on top.
This is my version, give or take a little. It was really easy and everybody liked it.
I also need to make a dessert for a cookout we are attending Thursday night, looking for ideas. . . At least I don't have to make two complete meals. . .
Oh, and did I mention our church is compiling a cookbook?
Waiting to hear about some great recipes. . .

I don't make many casseroles, but here's a good one in a pinch. it's a ham, broccoli, cheese, pasta type of casserole. Want me to email you the recipe? Email me at aliciamhorn@gmail.com and I'll zip it off to you tomorrow.
We have a bunch of different enchilada recipes that transport very well and reheat beautifully! If you're interested, I'd be happy to email them to you as well. twomuthsatgmaildotcom.
My mom's version of tater tot casserole is a big hit... and most people like all of the ingredients... it's rice, cream of mushroom (or you can use cream of chicken) soup, chicken, cheddar cheese, french-style green beans and tater tots. I'll e-mail the recipe if you want it... just drop me a line at crhbmitchellfam@juno.com
Also, dump cake is a great easy and quick recipe for dessert!
