OK, so I am 38 weeks and have had contractions or I guess you would call them Braxton-Hicks for the last week. Some being 3 minutes apart for an hour and then eventually going away. I'm beginning to ignore them since obviously I still haven't had this little one yet. . . OK, so If they got really bad I wouldn't be able to ignore them, then I would go to the hospital, actually Adam wouldn't let me get too far he wants to make it to the hospital in time. . .
Anyway, I've been wondering, did you have false alarms during your pregnancies??
What was your reaction?
Did you run around the house cleaning just in case this might be the time?
Did you start packing your bags?
Did you call everyone you know or not tell a soul in case you were wrong?
Did you write down every contraction time religiously?
Did you go lay down since if it is fake they should stop, and if it's real your going to need the energy?
As to my last post, about pacifiers, Audrey did take a pacifier, she loved the green Soothies! We quickly found those things can bounce anywhere!! She became more attached at about a year, and we took it away around her second birthday. I would have probably taken it away sooner, but we travel so much I was afraid that on airplanes and such she would make everyone miserable, although she has adjusted just fine. . . Maybe this time we will try to take this babies away sooner, depending on how brave I am!
Will answer the above questions sooner or later. . .

I had Braxton Hicks for a couple weeks before Aaron came, but none with Evan. Absolutely none. He was born at 37 weeks, and was posterior, so I had back labor with him. I thought my real labor was false labor until it really got going. I was planning a garage sale, and NO my bags were not packed, we hadn't decided whether to go to the hospital or do a home birth yet. I didn't write anything down while I was in labor, I was trying to ignore them. :-) I didn't call anyone, and actually our music director called about my special music that coming Sunday and I just had Michael tell him that I wasn't feeling well - I was convinced that it was fake labor even then (at 11:30, and Evan was born at 3) LOL. Laying on my side helped with the back labor, especially since Michael was pushing on my back for all he was worth.
Oh - and Michael had to run and buy birth supplies! We hadn't done that either!!
I had Braxton Hicks contractions from 30 weeks on with both girls but while they were uncomfortable, I could talk through them so I didn't think they were the real thing which they weren't. They came pretty often the last few weeks of both pregnancies but they didn't start real labor.
I was induced both times so I don't know what it feels like to start labor on my own. If I had, though, I think I would've been writing them down religiously and in between trying to get the house picked up and life organized. :-)
Good to see you blogging again.
Yes I had a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions. So much with Lydia that I was convinced I was in labor for like two weeks. With my first two I wrote down the times with the last two I set a timer and just mentally kept note of whether they were getting closer or not. Since they always got worse at night I just basically got in the habit of completely cleaning the house every night just in case this time it was real. The only person I told was Daniel except with Benjamin since he wasn't here. Then I told my neighbor who was also my labor coach. With Lydia my pastor's wife called the evening she was born and I told her I was having contractions but not sure if they were real. Turns our they were real. It is so hard when you are so close to the end to have Braxton Hicks because you want so bad to bring that baby into the world and you just wish with every one that it is real and soon the whole thing will be done with. We are praying for you.
