Contractions???

OK, so I am 38 weeks and have had contractions or I guess you would call them Braxton-Hicks for the last week. Some being 3 minutes apart for an hour and then eventually going away. I'm beginning to ignore them since obviously I still haven't had this little one yet. . . OK, so If they got really bad I wouldn't be able to ignore them, then I would go to the hospital, actually Adam wouldn't let me get too far he wants to make it to the hospital in time. . .
Anyway, I've been wondering, did you have false alarms during your pregnancies??
What was your reaction?
Did you run around the house cleaning just in case this might be the time?
Did you start packing your bags?
Did you call everyone you know or not tell a soul in case you were wrong?
Did you write down every contraction time religiously?
Did you go lay down since if it is fake they should stop, and if it's real your going to need the energy?

As to my last post, about pacifiers, Audrey did take a pacifier, she loved the green Soothies! We quickly found those things can bounce anywhere!! She became more attached at about a year, and we took it away around her second birthday. I would have probably taken it away sooner, but we travel so much I was afraid that on airplanes and such she would make everyone miserable, although she has adjusted just fine. . . Maybe this time we will try to take this babies away sooner, depending on how brave I am!
Will answer the above questions sooner or later. . .

Baby Girl coming?? Pacifier Question??

I'm not sure that anyone probably even checks this blog. I must be honest in saying that I prefer Facebook vs. Blogging most days. I like to write to write a short note to a friend that I'm thinking about vs. writing in journal format. . . I do enjoy reading others blogs, but I find writing difficult or I don't have time by the time I read all the other blogs!
I thought I'd update you on our little world. We have just 2 1/2 weeks until my due date and we are waiting patiently for baby sister. I think we are being patient anyway! I thought I was in labor Tuesday night, but the contractions went away! I was right at the 37 week mark, so I'm glad she has had a few more days to grow inside me. Of course, it is so cold here I wouldn't mind her waiting till it gets above zero. I guess I don't have much choice in that, though! Audrey is excited about baby sister and she even got to visit the hospital where I'll be having the baby; I'm really glad for that so the whole situation won't be new. . . Her little world is getting ready to be rocked!! I don't think there is a whole lot you can do to prepare her for what is ahead, although we have tried!! I'm sure she'll adjust just fine.
I have most everything ready for the baby, since I did go early with Audrey. I am currently boiling pacifiers!! I guess we'll see if she even takes them! I was boiling several that I already had, different kinds, etc., and I got to wondering about others with little ones.

Here are a few questions I was curious about:

Did you try to give your little one a pacifier?
Did all of your children take one, if offered?
If they didn't take a pacifier did they suck there thumb/fingers?
Did they only take one type?
Did you regret giving them a pacifier?
What age did you take the pacifier away?

Theology with a two year old!!

Last night we did our normal evening routine (singing, prayer, hugs, and kisses) after Adam left the room the following conversation took place:
Audrey: I love Jesus!
Me: That's good!
Audrey: I want to hold Jesus (repeated several times)
Silence- as I am totally shocked to what I am hearing and not sure how to answer.
finally, after gaining composure
Me: Daddy, can you come back up here, Audrey has a question.
Audrey: I want to hold Jesus (repeating several more times)
Us: You can't hold Jesus because He is in heaven . . . .

Children, their minds are incredible, if only we could keep up!
Any great theological debates at your house lately?

Happy Things

Here are a few pictures from our visit to the zoo last week!!

I know that we aren't to allow circumstances to be the cause for our happiness, but sometimes days are full of happy things which makes it easier to chose the right attitude.
Here is my list from today:

Audrey slept until 8:00 this morning!!
I bought gas for $2.43!!
I bought a gallon of whole milk for $1.99 and a loaf of bread for $0.49!!
I bought a maternity dress shirt for $4.99!!
While I was shopping, my oven cleaned itself (we got this stove when we moved here and it is my first self-clean oven)!!
Audrey is already sleeping and she didn't get out of bed for naptime!!
The weather is beautiful this afternoon, 73 degrees!!

Sometimes we are quick to complain about all that has gone wrong in our day, well here are things to Praise the Lord about!!

Sorry to keep you all in suspense!

I guess I must be suffering from forgetful brain. I was talking to a friend on Saturday and she didn't know the gender of the baby. I guess I put it on facebook, but not here on the blog. I confess I do spend more time on facebook than on blogger. So, for all those who have been waiting. . .

It's a GIRL!!!

According to the ultrasound technician, we'll wait about 18 weeks to get confirmation:-) This pregnancy is going by too quickly!! I'm feeling the best I have felt, so far!!

Totally unrelated, but here is a picture of Audrey and Esther listening to Stephen during Bible time before bed (in August)
